Erica C. Knipp
Karli Lee
Hello! My name is Maia Jensen, I'm a State College, PA native, and have just moved back to central Pennsylvania.
I have spent the last 10 years developing my teaching skills and style and recently spent 8 years as the lead instructor of a very active equestrian program in the Poconos. Through the course of my time at that program I had the pleasure of teaching a wide range of students from young pony club kids to adults. I've coached at shows up and down the east coast and have had students qualify for and compete at the American Eventing Championships, 4-H States, and USPC Championships.
Personally, I have competed through the Preliminary level in eventing and 2nd level dressage. I have extensive experience riding/training all different sorts, from kick along lesson ponies to upper-level event horses. I am a proud USPC graduate, receiving my H-A in 2014. I pride myself in being an enthusiastic and knowledgeable instructor, and really enjoy helping my students achieve their goals!
I am excited to join the team at Buffalo Run this winter!
Karli's goals in lessons are to educate both the horse and rider through thoughtful discussions, self reflections, and fun challenges.
Her horsemanship background started at the young age of 5 in her local Pony Club where she focussed on education, safety, sportsmanship, and most importantly having fun with her horses. The skills and values learned in Pony Club instilled enhanced leadership, confidence, and responsibility that she continues to instill in her lesson students. Through this program she reached her C-2 HB certification and competed in eventing, dressage, showjumping, and polocrosse.
Karli also gained a wealth of experience working with many types of horses, and has trained countless horses through the start of their eventing career, including OTTb's and young green horses. Karli has ridden under many upper level trainers through Pony Club including Allie Sacksen, Kate Chadderton, and Ange Bean. Karli is available for lessons, training rides, clinics, and Pony Club certifications.

Erica C. Knipp is a USDF Bronze Medalist. She began her riding career at seven years old at a small hunter-jumper lesson barn outside of Cincinnati, OH. By the time she was 13, Erica was primarily learning dressage at a boutique facility in West Harrison, IN. During this time, she was fortunate to have the opportunity to train with masters such as Dominique Barbier, as well as ride many different horses & learn that no two horses are the same. All horses have something unique to teach us. Throughout this this time, Erica diligently worked to learn as much as she could from other master riders and their horses. Some of these feats included teaching once feral mustangs how to successfully jump 3 / 3'3 ft jumper courses, just-off-the-track thoroughbreds to compete up to 2nd level, and another OTTB to run at trains for the Strasburg Railroad's production of Sleepy Hollow. After learning from the top trainers in a variety of disciplines, including western ranch riding, dressage, eventing, & jumping, she then worked to apply & tailer her education to a variety of horses and students. Erica was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with some of the best trainers in the world & has well-rounded, yet classical, riding education. As a former high school teacher, Erica herself a kind, supportive, & accomplished rider. This combined with her reliable personal integrity, has earned Erica the excellent reputation of being a compassionate trainer, teacher, & clinician. Erica currently competes in dressage. She is actively pursing the final scores for her USDF Silver Medal & Bronze MFS bar. Additionally, she is enrolled in the required education to complete her judge’s card for the USDF l program, WDAA, & AHA.
